New Castle Correctional Facility is a privately run (but state-owned) prison located in New Castle, Indiana, United States. It opened in 2002. The facility is rated as minimum – to medium-security. It is currently the second-largest prison in Indiana, and can hold approximately 3,270 inmates.

Visitation Hours:

All General Population inmates (A-K and Infirmary) who are on non-contact visitation may have their visits limited to thirty (30) minutes depending on space availability and can have visits only on Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Unit L has visits Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Visits are also offered from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on the weekends with a bi-weekly rotation for each side (L1/L2).

Units M, O1, O2, and O4 have (one hour video only) visits on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30am to 3:00 pm and every weekend.

RSHU and O3 have (one hour non-contact only) visits on Tuesdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Visitation Policies:

  1. Visitation schedule, including days and hours;
  2. Visitation restrictions, including the number of authorized visits and/or visitors;
  3. Visitors shall provide staff with a picture identification in accordance with Procedure X;
  4. Visitor’s dress requirements, (i.e., visitors shall wear clothing that poses no threat to the security, custody, or maintenance of order at the facility; the wearing of expensive clothing or jewelry is discouraged);
  5. Items that are not permitted in the visiting area include: Firearms, weapons, knives, ammunition, narcotics, medication, controlled substances, alcoholic beverages, marijuana, tobacco, and tobacco related items, cameras, video and audio recording equipment, cell phones, and electronic devices shall not be permitted in the facility unless in accordance with department policies and procedures;
  6. All visitors age 16 years and older will be required to produce positive picture identification. All minor visitors under the age of 16 must have a valid birth certificate or state-issued ID for each visit.
  7. Visitors under age 18 shall be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Some circumstances may require a visitor under the age of 16 to have identification (i.e., SOMM visits, court-ordered visitation, etc.).
  8. Only three visitors are permitted to visit at one time plus children that can be held on the visitors’ lap (at the discretion of the visiting room officers). Visitors are responsible for the behavior and control of minor children at all times.
  9. Visits are limited to 1 hour. Extra time may be granted if space is available.
  10. Visitors will be asked to secure all valuables in their vehicles or lockers at the entrance to the visiting room.

  5. Message Link Account – If you want to send money for messages only, this is the account. You can add a video or photo to your messages – but don’t expect them back, as offenders can’t send photos or videos. $.27 = 1 credit = 1 message or photo. Video = $.81 = 3 credits.
  6. Video Visitation Account – See your loved one’s face! With no travel required. You can even do video visits with your phone now! You’ll still also have to set up your video visitation account, but this is the account for money to fund your video visits. 10 minutes = $3.30; 25 minutes = $8.25.
