Important Jail Policies and Procedures:
Inmates at the Lawrence County Security Center are allowed visitation on Tuesdays from 7pm to 9pm and Sundays from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. The schedule for visitation is arranged according to an inmate’s housing unit.
Blocks A-H visit downstairs, both hours
Blocks I, J, K visit upstairs, first hour
Blocks L, N, O visit upstairs, second hour
M Block visits second hour, inmates on disciplinary lockdown visit the last Sunday of the month.
Children below 16 years of age can only visit during Sundays and must be in the company of an adult. Individuals who have been released from jail following a conviction will not be allowed to visit for a period of 6 months. Those on probation or parole are also not allowed to visit.
Inmates are also allowed to receive correspondence. Mail must have an inmate’s name and the sender’s complete name and return address. Tapes, stickers, Polaroids, colored pencil or crayon drawings will not be allowed.
Family and friends can send money orders through the mail or use the kiosk in the lower lobby to deposit funds into an inmate’s account. They can also go online at Inmate Canteen to deposit funds.

Bail and Bondsman
The court requires a defendant to pay a certain amount of money if he wishes to be temporarily released from jail while awaiting trial. This money is called bail. It will be used by the court to make sure that the defendant shows up at his trial once it begins. The defendant loses the money if he misses a scheduled court appearance.
If the defendant cannot post bail due to financial problems, he can still get released from jail with the help of a bondsman. A bondsman can act as a surety for a fee which is equal to 10% of the bail amount. Keep in mind that this fee cannot be refunded.
