Important Jail Policies and Procedures:
Inmates at the Elkhart County are allowed visitation. All visitors must provide valid identification. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Inmates are only allowed one visit a day. Only one adult and one child at a time will be allowed at the visitation booth. However, visitors are allowed to share time during the visit. The number of visits an inmate is allowed each week depends on the inmate’s classification.
All visitors will be subject to search. They are required to wear appropriate clothing. No spandex, shorts, and shirts with logos endorsing alcohol, drugs, or gangs.
On-site visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance of the visit online or in the lobby of the facility. All visits are scheduled Thursday – Sunday from 4:30pm to 9:30pm.
Family and friends can also purchase remote video visitation. Remote visits are scheduled 24 hours in advance. Visitation times are Monday – Sunday from 9:30am to 9:30pm. Remote visits are charged a fee of $20 for 20 minutes of visitation time. For unlimited video visitation, visitors can subscribe for $19.99/month.
Inmates are allowed to receive mail. All incoming mail must have the name and jail identification number written or printed on it. Acceptable items for inmates are letters and completed money orders. Greeting cards will not be accepted. The mailing address of the jail is:
