Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Inmates at the Huntington County Jail are allowed to visit with family and friends. Visitors 18 years old and above must provide a valid photo ID. Those younger than 18 must have parental permission to visit and be accompanied by an adult on the inmate’s approved visitation list.

All visitors are subject to search. Personal belongings are not allowed in the visitation area. The visitation hours for this facility are as follows:

Bail and Bondsman

Bail is the “deposit” of money given to the court in order to secure the temporary release of an inmate awaiting trial. The money will serve as insurance, guaranteeing the defendant’s appearance in court once the trial starts. If he misses a court appearance, his money is forfeited.
