Services and Responsibilities:

The Court Administrator Office’s primary responsibility is to oversee daily court operations such as case flow management, personnel management, jury management, preparation and management of the annual court budget, information management, space management, providing supplies for court operations, Magisterial District Justices management, community relations, and Public Information. Besides, the Court Administrator’s Office also maintains the court’s calendar, that includes; scheduling and coordinating all hearings, arguments, jury trials, non-jury trials, master hearings, arbitrations, preliminary injunctions, protection from abuse, divorce matters, orphans court matters, monitor civil and criminal motions, petitions, stipulations, and continuance applications. Moreover, the Court Administrator Office is also in charge of the departments such, Judge’s Chambers, Adult Probation, Juvenile Probation, Domestic Relations, and the Court Computer Information Systems office.

Service and Responsibilities:

The Prothonotary Office is the official record-keeping Office for the Court of Common Pleas of Centre County, responsible for civil and criminal transactions, docketed, judgments, divorce actions, and numerous other miscellaneous filings. Besides, the Office is also responsible for collecting bail money and its return to the surety upon completing the court action. Moreover, the Prothonotary Office also processes approximately 1,000 passport applications each year. On the other hand, the Clerk of Court Office is responsible for keeping detailed, up-to-date records of criminal court with accurate information and maintaining all adult criminal records’ security and integrity entrusted to the Clerk of Court’s Office. Services and Responsibilities:

The Recorder of Deeds Office’s primary objective is to record, protect, preserve, and reproduce legal documents related to real estate in Centre County. The Office also acts as an agent for Real Estate Transfer Tax, receives and disburses the real estate transfer taxes according to the state statute and county code. Besides, the Office also works as an agent of the State Department of Revenue, collecting fees from the Affordable Housing Fund, County Records Improvement funds, Pennsylvania Department of State Notary Public Commission fees, and Writ taxes. Services and Responsibilities:

The Office of the Register of Wills is responsible for probating wills and granting administration letters in cases where persons die without leaving a will. The register has jurisdiction on maintaining records of wills, inventory of estates, and other miscellaneous documents. The Register of Wills Office also acts as a Commonwealth’s agent for collecting inheritance tax. On the other hand, the Clerk of Orphans’ Court is in charge of performing the court’s administrative record-keeping duties, issuing marriage licenses, and keeping required marriage records. Besides, the Clerk of Orphans’ Court also processes and maintains all guardianship papers for minors and incapacitated persons and papers on adoptions.
