Livingston County, Illinois is located in the north central part of Illinois. According to the 2010 census, the population was 38,950. The county seat is Pontiac. The county is named after Edward Livingston, a prominent politician who was major of New York City and represented New York in the U.S. House of Representative and Louisiana in both houses of Congress. He served as Andrew Jackson’s Secretary of State and a Minister to France. He had no connections to Illinois, but the General Assembly liked him anyway.

Online Video Visitation is available through Visitel. Visits are allowed 7:00 AM thru 10:00 PM every day. Detainees and Visitors are required to follow all facility rules.

All visitors must remain dressed.
No yelling, screaming or threatening mannerism will be tolerated.
Visits may be terminated due to operational needs of the facility.

Failure to do so may result in visiting privileges to be restricted.
Family and friend visits are monitored and recorded. Detainees will be allowed one 30-minute video visit per schedule visit day. Visiting stations are located in each housing unit. All visitors will be required to provide a photo ID. with full name and date of birth. Detainees and Visitors are required to follow all facility rules. Failure to do so may result in the visit being terminated, disciplinary action for the detainee and revocation of visiting privileges for the visitor. Visitation may be cancelled at any time due to emergencies or facility needs.

All original reports are maintained at the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office in accordance with state statues. Citations, lab sheets, tow sheets, law enforcement sworn reports, statements of arrest, warning to motorist, evidence, Secretary of State forms, seizure and forfeiture records, DUI forms, and vehicle records, are also directed to the proper entity when included in a report.

A warrant is issued by a Judge. The State’s Attorney and Circuit Clerk’s offices complete the proper documentation and forward said documents to the Sheriffs’ Office. The warrants are then entered into the data system.
