Fulton County Jail Overview

Fulton County is in Illinois and as of 2010 it had a population of 37,069 and the county seat is Lewistown. The largest city in the County is Canton. Fulton County is part of the Peoria-Canton, IL Statistical Area.
The county was organized in 1823 from Pike County and is named for Robert Fulton inventor of the steamboat. Fulton County housed Camp Ellis during WWII. The county hosts the annual Spoon River Scenic Drive once a year. It is the site of the Ogden Fettie Site or one of the important sites in Havana Hopewell Native Culture. It also has the largest collection of Woodland Mounds in Illinois.

Jail Visiting Hours and Rules
Visiting shall be conducted twice weekly. Inmates are allowed visitation for up to thirty minutes per week on Wednesdays or Saturdays unless that inmate has had disciplinary action taken for a jail rule violation. Visitors shall be selected by the inmate and their names placed on the authorized visitor’s list.

Wednesday 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Sunday 9:00 am -11:00 am
In order to be allowed visitation you must be signed in no later than 3:00 pm on Wednesday and no later than 11:00 am on Sunday.
Men’s Visiting Hours
Wednesday 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Sunday 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
In order to be allowed visitation you must be signed in no later than 8:00 pm on Wednesday and no later than 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Visiting Guidelines
Inmates serving a sentence of periodic imprisonment, such as weekends or work release, are not eligible for visitation privileges.
In cases where a relative and a friend arrive at the same time, the relative will be given preference.
Anyone on a visitation list that creates a problem for staff may have their visitation rights revoked.
Persons under the age of 17 shall be accompanied by an adult with picture identification.
Visitation between parties involving any known order of protection shall not be permitted.
