Vermilion County, IL Court System Information

Vermilion County is a county in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Illinois, between the Indiana border and Champaign County. It was established in 1826 and was the 45th of Illinois’ 102 counties. According to the 2010 United States Census, it had a population of 81,625, a decrease of 2.7% in 2000. It contains 21 incorporated settlements; the county seat and largest city is Danville.

Services and Responsibilities:

The duty of the Clerk of the Circuit Court is to serve as the administrative arm of the Court system. The Clerk is responsible for keeping the official record of the Court in all proceedings that come before the Court. The Clerk also has all financial responsibilities relating to the Court system as well as administrative and managerial duties. All monies owed to the Court are collected and distributed by the Circuit Court Clerk.
