Service and Responsibilities:

The County Court Clerk’s primary responsibilities are to record, file, and maintain the District Court proceedings by keeping books such as trial dockets, case files, and journals useful for locating past court proceedings. The Clerk’s Office also maintains case files, appearance dockets, plaintiff and defendant docket, and journal docket, maintains files of word-for-word transcripts, collects court fees, fines, costs assessments, and forfeiture as well as distributes or expends collected monies. Besides, the Court Clerk issues legal warrants, including subpoenas, summons, orders, processes, and writs as allowed by statute, issuing marriage licenses, private process server licenses, bail bond licenses, passport applications, protective order for victims as well as records for jury services.

Services and Responsibilities:

The County Clerk’s Office serves as a custodian of records as well as the Registrar of Deeds, maintaining county records, deeds, mortgages, development plats, tax liens, etc. Besides, the Clerk’s Office serves as secretary to various boards, posting agendas and recording proceedings, reviewing all claims, preparing warrants for payment, keeping a financial ledger and judgment dockets.
