Service and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Court Clerk are to record, file, and maintain District Court proceedings and to keep books and records relevant to locating records of previous courts. The Clerk’s Office keeps summaries of court actions as an appearance docket on the computer. Additionally, the office maintains case files; collects fines, fees and forfeitures, small claims, and distributes or expends collected monies to over 35 different agencies as provided by law. Besides, the Court Clerk’s office also issues legal warrants, court orders, as well as marriage, beer, and pool hall licenses, jury fees, petitions for grand juries, mails jury summons, coordination of jury selection from jury panels, cases such: divorce, civil, probate, misdemeanor, felony, and traffic.

Services and Responsibilities:
The County Clerk primary responsibilities are to maintain County records. The records include; Real Estate-related filings, Deeds, Mortgages, Tax liens, Uniform Commercial Code (secured-party transactions) filings. By the statutes of the Oklahoma State, the county clerk also serves as County Registrar of Deeds, receiving and storing records of public documents as well as making them accessible to the public perpetually. Additionally, the Clerk also serves as Secretary of the Carter County Board Commissioner; conducting Commissioner’s meetings, plans and publishes agendas, schedules meeting minutes, maintaining Commissioners’ meeting proceedings, offering support for the yearly budget process, and all the County’s contractual agreements. Besides, the Clerk’s office responsibility extends to Secretary to the County Excise Board; responsible for final approval of the County Budget and property tax levy, Accounts Payable and Payroll functions, Preparing the County’s Annual Financial Report and monthly financial reports as well as receiving and compiling and presenting all budgets which include cities, towns, and school districts.
