Important Jail Policies and Procedures

FREQUENCY: Inmates may have a maximum of two visits per visiting day, providing the limited space available is not occupied.

DURATION: Normal visits will be 20 minutes; time may be shortened to allow all inmates visitation. This will be at the discretion of the Detention Deputy(s) on duty.

CHILDREN: No person under the age of eighteen (18) years of age may visit an inmate unless accompanied by the legal guardian or an adult member of the immediate family.

DENIAL OF VISITS: Visits may be denied if visits are disruptive or dangerous. The visitor is under the influence of drugs, alcohol. The visitor cannot refuse to show picture identification. If there is a current restraining order-prohibiting contact of a visitor with the inmate, or the inmate with the visitor, or if the visitor has been incarcerated in the Winona County Jail within the previous 6 months the visit will be denied. No cell phones or cameras will be allowed in the visiting area
