Becker County is located in the western part of Minnesota. Its county seat is in Detroit Lakes. A portion of the White Earth Indian Reservation extends into the county. The county was created in 1858 and organized in 1871. Becker is named after George Loomis Becker, one of three men elected to congress when Minnesota became a state. All social visits shall be a maximum duration of 20 minutes, unless the number of persons attempting to visit exceeds the facility’s ability to meet this requirement, or the inmate’s (or visitors) behavior dictates a need to terminate a visit earlier. No exceptions! Rules of appropriate conduct apply to visitors as well as inmates during visits.
Visitors are not allowed to bring tobacco, cell phones, purses, packages, food or beverages upstairs. Anyone caught using a cell phone or attempting to smuggle tobacco or other prohibited materials into the jail during visiting will be asked to leave and will be banned from visiting for a period of six months for the first offense. A second offense will result in a lifetime ban from visiting at either of the Becker County Jails.

Posting Bond in Minnesota Court
Before any subject is released on bond, the bond must be approved by a judge after submission to the prosecuting lawyer for approval and execution. It may be filed with the court administrator during regular business hours and also with the custodian of the jail. In cases where bail has been set by the court and the defendant has provided a bail bond with corporate surety, approval by a judge is unnecessary if the bond conforms to Form 702 as published by the state court overseer.
