The Olmsted County Jail has an online

of incarcerated inmates maintained at their site. Each inmate’s file contains the following information: Name, Booking Date, Incarceration Reason, Detainee Description, Charge, Charge Description, Charge Level.

The adult detention center is a direct supervision facility with a rated capacity of 202 beds of which 16 are dedicated to female detainees.  The work release facility (WRF) annex capacity is 60 males and 30 females. The ADC also houses detainees for the U.S. Marshals Service, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, other county and state organizations.

Important Jail Policies and Procedures

All visits are subject to monitoring and recording

All visits must be scheduled 24 hours prior to the appointment or up to 1 week in advance.

All visitors 18 years of age and older must register and possess a valid picture identification (e.g., driver’s license, State I.D., or Military I.D. with picture).

Visitors under the age of 18 must be listed as an additional visitor and accompanied and supervised by an authorized adult visitor.

Visitors who arrive after the scheduled start time may not be allowed to visit.

Clothing must cover all private/sensitive body areas.

You will not be allowed to visit under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Any inmate or visitor whose behavior is disruptive during a visit may have his/her visiting privileges suspended/terminated.

Inmates will be allowed two (2) visits per week with up to three (3) visitors for a maximum of 30 minutes.

Visitors may visit up to five (5) inmates in custody (individually).

The visitation schedule may be cancelled or altered on county appointed holidays or for safety / security reasons.

Staff can disconnect, deny, change, or cancel a visit at any time.

Internet connectivity issues during offsite visits will not be refunded.

Each visitation session will show a timer to display elapsed time.

After your visit has ended your connection will be terminated.

Posting Bond in Minnesota Court

Before any subject is released on bond, the bond must be approved by a judge after submission to the prosecuting lawyer for approval and execution. It may be filed with the court administrator during regular business hours and also with the custodian of the jail. In cases where bail has been set by the court and the defendant has provided a bail bond with corporate surety, approval by a judge is unnecessary if the bond conforms to Form 702 as published by the state court overseer.

Forfeiture of Bonds in Minnesota Court

Whenever a bail bond is forfeited by a judge, the surety and bondsman shall be informed by the court overseer in writing, and be directed to make payment in accordance with the terms of the bond within ninety (90) days from the date of the order of forfeiture. A signed copy of the order of forfeiture shall be forwarded with the notice.
