The Pennington County Jail is a linear supervision facility housing both sentenced and pretrial adult male and female offenders. The facility is licensed by the State of Minnesota to house up to 28 inmates, separated into 6 housing units.

Important Jail Policies and Procedures

Inmate visitation hours are from 7am to 11pm, 7 days a week. The visitation kiosks area located in the main lobby of the Law Enforcement Building. Posting Bond in Minnesota Court

Before any subject is released on bond, the bond must be approved by a judge after submission to the prosecuting lawyer for approval and execution. It may be filed with the court administrator during regular business hours and also with the custodian of the jail. Forfeiture of Bonds in Minnesota Court

Whenever a bail bond is forfeited by a judge, the surety and bondsman shall be informed by the court overseer in writing, and be directed to make payment in accordance with the terms of the bond within ninety (90) days from the date of the order of forfeiture. A signed copy of the order of forfeiture shall be forwarded with the notice.
