Sex Offender Search and Lookup:

In most cases, individuals convicted of a sex-related crime (also called sex offenders) are mandated by law to register on the sex offender database of the jurisdiction they live in. Their name and other information will also be published in the National Sex Offender Registry that is maintained by the US Department of Justice. Both systems are open to the public as a safety resource.

The definition and laws governing sex crimes differ in every state. In general, sex crimes are illegal acts that are sexually motivated and committed against another person. While there are differences in how some states would classify certain crimes, there are certain crimes that are widely accepted as sex crimes such as rape, sex trafficking, sexual assault, and child molestation. In some states, unlawful imprisonment of a minor and public urination are also considered sex crimes.

If you want to check for sex offenders living in Darke County, you can visit the Darke County eSORN Website

Please make sure to read the disclaimer carefully before proceeding to the database. While the state of Ohio believes that all information entered into the database is reliable, in no way can they guarantee that it is completely accurate. In some cases, you may get information that has not been updated such as the previous address of a sex offender. Another example are vague information such as the listing of the block the offender resides in but not the exact address.

Bail and Bondsman

The court allows the temporary release of an accused individual from custody or jail through the posting of bail. Bail is the money or form of property that is held by the court in collateral to ensure that the accused individual appears on the day of his or her trial. If he or she fails to do so, the money or property pledged to the court is forfeit.

If you are arrested in Darke County and require assistance in posting bail, you can get the services of a bondsman. A bondsman will post your bail and arrange the necessary paperwork for your release. In return, you will pay him or her a non-refundable fee which should be no more than 10% of the bail amount.
