Important Jail Policies and Procedures:
Inmates in the Warren County Correctional Center are permitted visits with family and friends. All visitors must be on the inmate’s visitor list which is completed by the inmate during his intake process. Individuals must be at least 18 years old, or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is on the inmate’s visitor list. All visitors are required to present valid identification in order to visit. Personal items must be left inside the vehicle or secured in a locker outside the lobby area. All visitors may be subject to search. They are also required to adhere to the dress code of the facility.
Non-contact visits occur on weekdays according to the inmate’s housing assignment. Visitation schedules may be obtained by contacting (908) 475-7900. Contact visits for sentenced inmates shall occur as approved on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:15PM to 12:45PM.
All inmates are allowed to receive mail. Incoming mail must have the sender’s complete name and address as well as the inmate’s name, number, and the address of the facility. See the example below:
John Doe #1111
175 County Route 519 South
Belvidere, NJ 07823-1950
Money orders may be sent through the mail. These must contain the sender’s name and address. Cashier’s checks, government checks, or checks from other correctional facilities will be accepted. Family and friends can also use the lobby kiosk at the Correctional Center to deposit funds. Visiting the Touch Pay Direct website or calling 1 (866) 232-1899 will also allow family and friends to deposit funds into an inmate’s account.
Sex Offender Search and Lookup:
Based on federal law, sex offenders are required to inform local law enforcement of any changes in their information. Their records in the state sex offender registry and national sex offender database must be up-to-date. A person is classified as a sex offender if he or she was found guilty of a sexually motivated offense such as rape, sexual assault, and incest. Bear in mind that you may encounter records listing previously known addresses of offenders. This is because not all offenders update their registration.
Bail and Bondsman
A pretrial inmate can be released temporarily from jail if he gets a low score from a risk assessment tool used by the state of New Jersey. This is because the algorithm predicts that he will not harm the community or fail to return for his trial once released from jail. This result is based on his information which includes criminal history. If the pretrial inmate gets a high score, it will inform the judge that the inmate is likely to commit a crime again and is probably a flight risk.
