Service and Responsibilities:

The Washburn County Clerk of Court’s office is administered to provide record-keeping for the judicial system which includes; civil, small claims, felony, misdemeanor, traffic, county ordinance, DNR, divorce, paternity, and family matters. In addition, the Clerk of Courts also maintains all new cases, dockets, pleadings, takes court minutes, enters judgments, prepares bail bonds and criminal judgments of conviction, issues warrants, prepares court files for appeals, collects fees, fines, restitution, court-appointed attorney fees and other miscellaneous obligations mentioned by the Court. Furthermore, the Clerk of Court’s office also takes charge of jury management, as well as assisting the public in accessing the courts and its records.

Services and Responsibilities:

The County Clerk is an elected constitutional officer, administered to keep records for various basic county functions, as well as acting as the Secretary of the County Board of Supervisors and Election Administrator. The responsibilities of the County Clerk includes preparing and maintaining County Board agendas, minutes, resolutions, ordinances, appointments, legal notices, and publications; coordinating federal, state, and all local elections; maintaining and preparing county directory of all federal, state, and local officials, county agencies and departments; issuing and maintaining oaths, bonds and certificates of election for all county officials; performing purchasing duties and maintaining claims filed within the County. Besides, the County Clerk is also responsible for payroll, budgeting, and voucher preparation; maintaining personnel records, payroll records, and employee benefit programs as well as issuing notary public.
