    Sex Offender Search and Lookup:

A sex offender is someone who has been found guilty of a sexually oriented offense such as rape, prostitution, and incest. Federal law mandates that this kind of offender must provide his information for registry in the state sex offender database and the national sex offender database. If you wish to locate sex offenders in Delaware County, you can visit the Sheriff’s Alert page. Read the disclaimer completely before using the registry. Also, you may see some records that only list last known addresses of offenders. This is because some offenders do not obey the registration law.

    Bail and Bondsman

The temporary release of a defendant from jail is possible if he has been granted bail by the court. Bail is the money that is “deposited” with the court to secure the defendant’s compliance in fulfilling his court obligations. He only gets the money back at the end of the trial if he has fulfilled the conditions of his release. If he misses a court date, he loses the money.

If a defendant does not have enough money for bail, a bondsman can help him secure his release for a fee. The cost of such a service is equal to 10% of the bail amount. When hired, a bondsman can act as a surety and becomes liable to the court for paying the entire bail if the defendant flees.
