When a person commits a sex offense, such as rape, kidnapping or aggravated kidnapping, unlawful restraint, sexual abuse or assault, lewd conduct or indecent exposure or other illegal sexual behavior against the will of another individual, he or she will be classified as a sex offender and must register in that capacity in the designated registries. You can search for Beaverhead County sex offenders in the National Sex Offender Registry or use the Montana Sex Offender Registry. The state registry contains information from the court, state or correctional facilities, parole or probation agencies or from the offenders. Montana sex offenders are classified in three levels – 1, 2 and 3, depending on the level of the risk of repeating the offense.
Bail and Bondsman
The judge sets the bail amount in the court order to offer an option for the arrested person to defend from freedom in the criminal procedure. If you are arrested, you need to act in line with the rules of the bail, if you want to be able to use the privilege. In case you are unable to post the bail bond amount yourself in cash or surety, you can use a commercial bail bonding agency. The bail bondsman will complete the bailout on your behalf. If you engage as a party in a commercial bail bond, according to Montana laws, you are a principal. The person holding you liable for the obligation is the indemnitor, since he or she will overtake your liability if you fail to observe it.
