Marion County Missouri Sheriff Overview

Marion County is located in northeastern Missouri. Its county seat is Palmyra, but Marion County also has a second County Courthouse located in Hannibal. The county was organized at the end of 1826 and named for General Francis Marion, also called the  “Swamp Fox”, who served in the American Revolutionary War.
