Allegan County is located in the southwest region of Michigan. It was founded in 1831. It was named by American geographer Henry Rowe Schoolcraft who combined words and syllables from the Native American languages, Latin, and Arabic to create a faux Indian name. The county seat is also named Allegan. Inmate Search in Allegan County Jail

The Allegan County Correction Center does not have an online roster of inmates currently housed in the facility. To locate an inmate here, you can contact the jail at 866-516-0115.   

Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Inmates confined in the Allegan County Correction center are allowed to maintain contact with family and friends through video visitation. Visits can be done locally in the video visitation room located in the main lobby or done remotely using an internet device with a camera. All visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance.

If scheduling a local visit (in the video visitation room, located in the main lobby): the video visitation is open Monday – Friday from 7:50am-4:00pm; excluding major holidays (Holiday Closure Dates). Visits can be scheduled beginning at 8:00am, with the last one at 4:00pm. If you have questions and need help with scheduling a visit, call 866-516-0115. Each visitor is required to register  upon arrival. Only 2 visitors allowed at each station in the visitation area at a time, this includes children over the age of 2. No nudity or suggestive clothing will be allowed. Cell phones are not allowed inside the visitation area.

To deposit money into an inmate’s account, you must use the kiosk located in the visitation lobby or visit www.gettingout.com. You can also send a money order made out in the inmate’s name via mail. The envelope must only contain the money order and addressed to “Allegan County Jail, c/o Inmate’s Name”.

Only postcards, no bigger than 5 x 7”, can be sent to inmates via the US Postal Service. They must be plain white and have metered postage. Inmates are also allowed to receive subscriptions to magazines and newspapers through the

mail.

A Deputy Sheriff in Allegan County can earn a starting salary of $19.36 per hour. The ceiling wage for this position is $28.08 per hour. A Deputy Sheriff is expected to fulfill patrol functions as well as to perform the following duties – traffic control, crime investigation, report writing, motorist assistance, and rendering first aid.

Bail and Bondsman

An individual charged with a crime in Allegan County can be released from custody/jail through the process of bail.
