Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

All inmate visitations at the Grant Parish Detention Facility are conducted by a video monitoring system. Visits must be pre-scheduled with at least a 24-hour notice.  To schedule a visit, please call 318-627-3724. Please note that all visits are subject to be monitored and/or recorded. Cell phones are not allowed inside the facility. Proper attire must be worn.  No low cut shirts or shorts. No profanity will be allowed.

A Corrections Deputy with the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office can earn $32,100 annually. POST Certified Deputies are eligible for state supplemental pay, which is $500 per month ($6000.00 per year).

The main duty of a corrections deputy is to maintain he custody and security of prison inmates through supervision, observation and monitoring of inmate activities and enforcement of security policies and procedures.

The basic requirements for a Corrections Deputy with the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • No felony convictions and no convictions of perjury, false statement or moral turpitude charge as an adult.  Other arrests and convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Bail and Bondsman

In Grant Parish, you can be release from jail while your trial is pending if you are able to post bail. Bail is the amount of money that must be “deposited” with the court in exchange for granting a defendant’s release. The money is held in the court’s keeping during the entire trial and will be returned as long as the defendant has met all court obligations. The money is forfeited if he fails to uphold this condition.
