Visitation at the Steuben County Jail is conducted 5 days a week between 6pm and 9pm. Inmates are allowed no more than 3 adult visitors and 2 minor children visitors. Inmates are responsible for listing three adult visitors and their minor children to whom visitation privileges will be given. All visitors must present a picture ID upon entry at the facility. Visitors must arrive prior to the scheduled visit in order to sign the visitor log. Visitors younger than 18 must be members of the inmate’s immediate family and accompanied by an authorized adult visitor. All persons entering the facility are subject to search and to video/audio surveillance.

Bail and Bondsman

The court requires payment known as bail before it will grant temporary freedom to a pretrial inmate. This money will be used to ensure the inmate’s appearance in court once the trial starts.
