Important Jail Policies and Procedures:
Inmates at the Scott County Detention Center are required to fill out a visitation sheet with 4 adult names of individuals whom they wish to visit them. Inmates are responsible for getting in touch with the people on the list. All visitors are required to provide a valid government issued photo ID.
Visitors under 18 years of age do not have be listed on the visitation sheet. However, they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is listed. A birth certificate or legal papers must be presented.
All visitors need to arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before the schedule. Each inmate will be allowed only one 15-minute visit per week. The visitation schedule for this facility is as follows:

Sex Offender Search and Lookup:
A person is considered a sex offender if he or she was convicted of a sex crime such as incest, prostitution, and child pornography. Federal law mandates that all sex offenders must register their information in the state and national sex offender databases. Visiting
will enable locals to locate any sex offenders living or working in Scott County. Bear in mind that not all offenders will submit their information for registration. In addition, the disclaimer needs to be read and acknowledged before the database can be searched.
Bail and Bondsman
The court requires money to be put down as collateral in exchange for granting temporary release to a pretrial inmate. This money is called bail and will be used to guarantee the inmate’s return to court once the trial starts. The inmate forfeits the money if he misses a court appearance.
The defendant can opt to use a bondsman if he cannot afford the bail. A bondsman charges 10% of the bail amount as his non-refundable fee.
