Kendall County was formed in 1841 and the county is named after Amos Kendall. Kendall was the editor of the Frankfort, Kentucky newspaper and an advisor to President Andrew Jackson. He was the US postmaster General I 1835.

Visiting Rules

All inmate visitation with friends and family will be done via video visitation. Both visitors and inmates are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate fashion at all times. Th visit will be recorded.

To become a deputy in Kendall County, Illinois you must be an US. Citizen, 21 years of age, have a valid state issued driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED. You must pass a written test oral interview, psychological and medical test, background investigation and polygraph. You need a valid NIPSTA card. You need to live within a 25 mile radius of the Kendall County Public Safety Center within 1 year of hire date. The pay rate for a deputy in Kendall County is $29.40 per hour and this incudes benefits and paid time off.
