Responsibilities & Services:
The Clerk is also responsible for the conduct of all primary, general, and special elections held in the county, including matters related to registration of voters, publishing notice of elections held in the county, appointment of election judges, and printing and distributing ballots. The Clerk also issues marriage licenses, maintains records and books for the Board of County Commissioners, is the local registrar for birth and death records for the county, and the liquor-licensing agent for the county. The Clerk is the ex-officio Recorder of Deeds and is responsible for the safekeeping of all public records associated with the office.
