Federal law mandates that a sex offender must be listed in the state and national sex offender registries. These systems are used to monitor the movement of sex offenders and make sure that the public are made aware. A sex offender is a person with a conviction for a sexually motivated offense such as rape, sexual assault, and child pornography. You can check for sex offenders in Perry County by visiting http://perrycountysheriffar.org/sex_offenders.php. Keep in mind that not all sex offenders follow the law to have their information listed. This means that there is a possibility that you may get search results showing only last known addresses.
Bail and Bondsman
A person arrested for an illegal offense is allowed to remain free from jail while awaiting trial if he posts bail. Bail is the money set by the court to ensure that the defendant shows up again once the trial starts. If he doesn’t, he won’t be able to get the money back.
If a defendant lacks funds to post bail, he can pay a bondsman 12% of the bail amount instead. This way, the bondsman will be the one to secure his release by signing a bond with the court. Failure of the defendant to appear in court will mean that the bondsman will become responsible for paying the entire bond amount. Take note that a bondsman’s fee is non-refundable.
