Important Jail Policies and Procedures
Houston County Jail has different types of visitation systems including face-to-face and video visitation system. You can schedule your face-to-face visitation sessions if you call at (334) 712-0762. The jail authority doesn’t approve of any walk-in visitation sessions. You must schedule your visit by 3:00 P.M. on Friday before the weekend starts.
Inmates must fill out the visitation list within 30 days of their booking date. All visitors must be on the Approved Visitor’s list for being eligible for visitation session. A visitor must be of 16 years of age and all children must be accompanied by their parents. In addition, visitors must submit a valid photo ID as a proof of identification. Bail and Bondsman
According to Rule-7.2 (Right to release on one’s personal recognizance or on bond), any defendant who has been charged with a bailable offense can get a release from police custody during his or her trail on his or her personal recognizance or an appearance bond. If the magistrate or the court assumes that such release will not ensure the future appearance of the defendant or if he or she is a real danger to the public, then the court or the magistrate can rule out the release order and impose Rule-7.3.
