Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Inmates at the Southwestern Regional Jail are allowed the privilege to visit with family and friends. All visits must be scheduled by calling (304) 239-3070 between the hours of 8:00am-4:00pm on the designated days listed below. Visitors will be assigned a time slot. They will not be able to choose the time of their visit. If you arrive late for your visit you will only receive the time remaining in your assigned time slot.  

All visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or submit a notarized statement from the parent or legal guardian authorizing the visit. Only non-incarcerated parents or legal guardians may authorize juvenile visitation. If not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian the visitor must be accompanied by an authorized adult visitor, and must have a signed, notarized Juvenile Visitation Form.

Bail and Bondsman

A person arrested in West Virginia can get released from custody/jail as long as he is able to post bail. Bail is the bond set by the court to be paid (in the form of money or property) by the defendant or a surety (someone, aside from the defendant, who secures the bail).
