Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Inmates at the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail are allowed non-contact visitation with family and friends. To visit inmates on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, visitors must call (304) 496-7057, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. a day prior to the desired appointment date. Visits are on a first call, first serve basis. You will be given the choice of morning, afternoon or evening (evening visits are on Thursdays only).  Then you will be assigned the first available time slot for your visit. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your visit to sign in. If you arrive late for your visit you will only receive the time remaining in your assigned time slot. ​Take note that inmates must be incarcerated at the jail for 24 hours before they are given the privilege of visitation.

Inmates are allowed five (5) visits per week.  One visit per visitation day. A maximum of five (5) people are allowed to visit an inmate at a time. All visitors of inmates shall be required to register upon entry to the facility and provide 2 valid forms of identification, one of which must contain a photograph (i.e. valid driver’s license + birth certificate). Visitors must be fully and appropriately dressed while in the visitation area.

In the absence of a parent or legal guardian, the minor visitor must present a notarized statement from the parent or legal guardian authorizing the visit.
