The Eastern Regional Jail does not have its own Weekly Arrest Report Online. If you need to locate someone here, you can use the West Virginia Regional Jail Authority’s main database which contains the information of all the inmates incarcerated in its facilities. Visitation at the Eastern Regional Jail must be scheduled by calling (304) 267-0048 (choose option #2) between the hours of 9am and 1pm on designated days. Non-contact visits are 30 minutes in length. Contact visits are 1 hour in length and is available upon request. Only one contact visit per inmate is allowed. Inmates may receive 2 visits per week. A visitor is only allowed to schedule 1 visit per day. Up to 4 people can visit an inmate at a time. Walk-in visitations will not be permitted.

Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or submit a notarized statement from the parent or legal guardian authorizing the visit. Only non-incarcerated parents or legal guardians may authorize juvenile visitation. If not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, the visitor must be accompanied by an authorized adult visitor, and must have a signed, notarized Juvenile Visitation Form.

    Bail and Bondsman

    A person accused of a crime may be let out of jail while awaiting trial if bail has been posted. Bail is the money paid to the court by the defendant as his guarantee that he will show up at his trial. The court will hold onto the money until the end of the trial when it will be returned to the defendant minus any court fees. However, bail is forfeited if the defendant does not show up as promised.

    A bail bondsman is a person who is in the business of funding a defendant’s bail if he does not have enough money to post bail on his own. A bondsman usually charges 10% of the bail amount as his fee. However, unlike bail, the bond fee is non-refundable.
