The population of the county based on the 2010 census was 425,363 and the county seat is Vancouver. It was the first established county in Washington and named after William Clark of the Lewis Clark expedition. It was first founded in 1845 and the total area is 656 square miles. County courthouse
The Superior Court is the trial court that handles all felonies and civil suits that involve amounts more than $75,000. The superior court also handles jurisdiction in probate, adoption, competency, juvenile, and divorce cases. Aside from that, the Superior Court hears the appeals that come from District Court decisions and administrative hearing decisions.
