Service and Responsibilities:
The Clerk of the Superior Court is responsible for keeping the permanent records of all cases filed in Superior Court, such as felony criminal, civil lawsuits, family law matters, probates and guardianships, and mental or alcohol commitment cases. Besides, the Clerk’s Office also collects and disburses money for restitution, court costs, child support, trust accounts, garnishments and fees as well as responsible for marking and securing all exhibits entered in trials and court hearings. Furthermore, the Clerk’s office also oversees jury management for both District and Superior Courts.

Services and Responsibilities:
The County Clerk is an elected official stated by the Washington States Constitution to perform specific and special duties that includes, processing of court documents, records classification, assignment of cause number, computerized docketing and manual filing of hard copy records, felony criminal case records, civil records, domestic/family law, probate, adoptions/paternity, mental commitment, juvenile offender and juvenile dependency. Moreover, the Clerk also acts as a court agent in collecting statutory fees, fines, trust and support funds; maintains a trust account for monies received; disburses monies as well as provides an investment plan for monies held. Finally, the County Clerk of Asotin also serves as Quasi-Judicial Officer and Jury Management Officer responsible for issuing letters testamentary, warrants of arrest, orders of sale, writs of execution, garnishment, attachments, restitution, and management of jury panel and establish a record of judgments.
