Inmate Search in Montgomery County Jail

The Montgomery County Jail maintains an online roster of inmates currently incarcerated in the facility. You can search the list either by choosing the first letter of the inmate’s last name or using the search box and typing in the inmate’s last name. The search results will show an inmate’s name, arrest date, arrest time, booking time, release date, and arresting officer. You can click on “SELECT” to view the inmate’s booking photo, gender, race, address, charges, and bond amount.

Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Inmates at the Montgomery County Jail are allowed visitation. All visits are by appointment only. You can schedule an appointment for visitation by calling 931-648-0615 ext. 13089 Monday through Friday from 9am to 12:30pm and 1pm to 3pm. You can also fill out the online visitation form. Visitation hours by appointment only Wednesday & Saturday OR Thursday & Sunday (depending on location of inmate). Appointment times start at 6:00 pm until 9:30 pm.

Visitation forms must be filled out and completed prior to initial appointment regardless of age. Visitation forms may be dropped off at the Jail or it can be faxed to (931) 553-5103.

If a minor has an appointment they must be accompanied by a Parent / Guardian and the adult will have to show proof of guardianship.

Contraband items include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lipstick, perfume, glitter, lamination, glue, stickers, and tape on the envelope.
  • Any kind of money.
  • Blank sheets of paper, stamps, or envelopes.
  • Polaroid pictures.

  • Puzzle, coloring, or comic books.

Upon their release, sex offenders are mandated by law to submit their information to local law enforcement for entry into the state and national sex offender registries. A person is considered a sex offender if he was convicted of a sexually motivated crime such as rape, sex trafficking, and prostitution. Bail and Bondsman

The court will allow the temporary release of an inmate while he waits for his trial to begin if the inmate is able to post bail. Bail is the money or property that you lodge with the court in exchange for your temporary freedom. The bail is forfeited if you miss a court appearance.

A bondsman can post bail for a defendant who does not have enough money to do it on his own. The fee is usually 10% of the bail amount and cannot be refunded no matter what the outcome of the trial is.
