The starting annual salary for a full-time jailer position in the Phelps County Jail is 27,200 .  Additional salary benefits include insurance plan (health and dental, paid holiday, 2 weeks of vacation and 12 sick days, as well as retirement via LAGER and CERF plans.

Job duties include:

  • Working on 12-hour shifts on a non-rotating basis from 7am to 7pm
  • Intake and release of inmates

  • Maintaining jail security and running daily operations

    Job requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Computer software skills
