Service and Responsibilities:

The Sheboygan County Clerk of the Circuit Courts Office is a public administrative establishment by the Wisconsin State Constitution in order to keep various records of the circuit court proceedings such as; criminal and civil cases, DNR and ordinance forfeitures, traffic violations records, family matters, large civil matters, small claims, lien dockets as well as restraining order actions. Besides, the Clerk of the Circuit Court also collects various fees, fines and forfeitures ordered by the court or specified by statute of Wisconsin. Furthermore, the Clerk of the Circuit Court serves as a Court Commissioner, taking responsibilities on preparing all notices, judgments of conviction, jail and prison papers, driver’s license suspensions, juvenile placement orders and all other documentation and orders mentioned by statute. Finally, the Circuit Court Clerk also oversees the jury management, taking matters such as qualifying, selecting and notifying potential jurors for service to the five Circuit Courts.

Services and Responsibilities:

The Sheboygan County Clerk is an elected constitutional officer, administered to keep records for various basic county functions, as well as acting as the Secretary of the County Board of Supervisors. As a County Board of Supervisor, the responsibilities taken by the County Clerk include, preparing and maintaining of agendas, minutes, and proceedings, publishing the appropriate legal notices, meetings calendar, and county board resolutions and ordinances as well as staff assistance to the Supervisors. Besides, the County Clerk also takes a position as Elections Administrator, taking responsibilities for programming, preparation, and distribution of ballots, accumulating the results of each election, and canvassing the election returns for each federal, state, and county office. Additional responsibilities provided by the County Clerk include issuing marriage licenses and domestic partnerships, passport applications, timber cutting permits, administering the dog license program, preparation and distribution of the county directory of officials, administration of Taylor Park rentals, posting and updating of county foreclosure listings.
