Sullivan County is located in the northeastern border of Tennessee. It was founded in 1779 and named in honor of General John Sullivan who fought during the Revolutionary War. Part of her responsibilities include overseeing the operations of the three divisions of the department and serving as the director of personnel. Keith Elton serves as the Administrative Major. He oversees the delivery of support services to the public which includes Courthouse Security, the Sheriff’s Auxiliary Unit, Fleet Maintenance, the Records unit, and the Reserve Deputy Program.
