Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Inmates are provided with a visitation schedule based on their housing unit and bed number. You can view the visitation schedule here. To acquire the necessary information, you will need to visit the jail roster before clicking on the appropriate housing unit and checking where the bed number falls in the table.

Inmates housed in MOD B, MOD C, MOD J and MOD H are allowed to use “Remote-at-Home Video Visitation” system which allows them to visit their friends and family using a video visitation terminal in the housing unit. The visitors will need to have a computer, webcam, and high speed internet connection.

Visitors entering the facility are required to register on the Visitor Registration Log and present a valid photo ID with birth date. If the ID does not include a birth date, you can use a photo ID and a supporting document such as a certified birth certificate.

A maximum of 2 adults per visit is allowed. Minors 16 years old and above may visit an inmate without an adult as long as he or she has a signed and completed Parental Consent Form or if he or she is legally married to the inmate and can preset the marriage license.

Inmates are allowed to receive and send mail via the US Postal Service. All incoming and outgoing mail will be opened and searched for contraband. All mail should include a complete return address. Sex Offender Search and Lookup:

An individual charged and convicted of a sex crime is called a sex offender. A sex crime can be defined differently in each state, depending on the statutes governing it. However, it is widely accepted that any sexual misconduct committed against an individual without their consent (i.e. by force, threats, manipulation) is considered a sex crime. Rape, child molestation, and child pornography are all considered as sex crimes.

As a sex offender, an individual must register his information with the state sex offender registry maintained by the jurisdiction in which he/she lives in. The US Department of Justice then collects each state’s data to form a national database. Both the state and national sex offender databases are open to the public.

Please note that the disclaimer provided must be read and accepted before you can use the registry. Also, it is important to keep in mind that the information may not always be accurate. In some cases, only the last known addresses of some sex offenders will be on file. In others, only the block where their house is located at has been entered.

Bail and Bondsman

Bail is used by the court as a pledge made by an accused person to appear before the court during his trial after his temporary release from custody. It can be in the form of money or property. If the accused fails to meet the conditions set by the court, the bail is forfeited.

Individuals who are unable to post bail due to financial difficulties can hire the services of a bondsman for a non-refundable fee (10% of the bail amount). The bondsman will post the bail amount set by the court and will be held liable should the accused miss any of his court appearances.
