Services and Responsibilities:

The County Register of Deeds office is responsible for keeping books and records and recording such instruments required or authorized by law to be recorded and must provide proper facilities for inspection of these records. These include; indexing and recording of legal documents such as Deeds, Deeds of Trust, Satisfactions of Deeds of Trust, Powers of Attorney, Maps/Plats, Easements, Rights-Of-Way, Assumed Names, Separation Agreements, Fixture Filings, birth and death records and certificates, marriage licenses, and administer oaths to notaries, etc. Moreover, the office also issues certified copies of military discharges (DD214’s) free of charge to the retired military.
