Visitation Policies:

  1. All visitors, including children, must dress appropriately for visitation. All clothing must cover from the neck to the kneecaps. The following types of clothing are not allowed to be worn: tube tops, tank tops, or halter tops, see-through clothing, mini-skirts, mini-dresses, shorts, skirts, or culottes (at or above the kneecap), form-fitting clothes such as leotards, spandex, and leggings clothes that expose a person’s midriff, side, or back, tops or dresses that have revealing necklines and/or excessive splits, coats, jackets, shawls, and scarves will be placed in an appropriate area.
  2. The use of restroom facilities is prohibited during visitation. If either the inmate or a visitor requires the use of the restroom, the visit will be terminated at that time. Please keep this in mind when visiting with small children.
  3. Three (3) visitors are permitted at a time; this does not include infants and toddlers.
  4. Inmates are permitted two (2) visits per week.
  5. Sunday afternoon visits are for Work Release men actively working jobs Outside of the Division of Corrections only. The hours are 3 pm – 5 pm. Visitors have to register by 4 pm. All work Release inmates that have jobs outside of the Division of Corrections can have visits during this time frame.
  6. A visitor shall complete the sign-in sheet prior to entering the facility, which shall include the date, time, printed name, signature, and name of the prisoner being visited.
  7. An adult visitor shall be required to present government-issued picture identification, such as a driver’s license, prior to admittance into the visit. An adult accompanying a minor visitor may be required to present government-issued picture identification, such as a State of Maryland identification card, or other appropriate government-issued identification, such as a certified copy of the birth certificate, for the minor, prior to admittance into the visit.
  8. If a visitor is wearing a head covering for religious reasons that cover his or her face so that it inhibits visual identification, he or she shall be required to temporarily remove the head covering enough to establish visual identification and shall be permitted to do so in a private area with staffs of the same gender or, in the case of a transgender or intersex visitor, by the gender staff of the visitor’s choice. Once the visitor is identified and otherwise clears the required search, he or she shall be permitted to wear the head covering during the visit.
  9. Prohibited Items not allowed inside the secured perimeter of a unit: Any food items, purses, diaper bags, briefcases, cameras, baby strollers, toys, dolls, photographs or photograph albums, paper money, knives, drugs, medication (exceptions are granted regarding prescribed medications on a case-by-case basis), tobacco, lighters, matches, cell phones, pagers, laptop computers, cameras, digital recorders or any other type of electronic/wireless devices, or any other non-authorized items.
