Important Jail Policies and Procedures

The following are the visitation schedule at Clinton County Jail:

1. Federal male inmates:

  • Inmates are allowed to receive two 20-minute visits or one 40-minute visit each week. The visiting week runs from Sunday to Saturday. Visits cannot be split up between visitors. Each person is only allowed to visit one inmate per day. Children under 12 are not counted as a visitor but they must be accompanied an adult. All visitors must be appropriately attired. They are also subject to search. Personal belongings are not allowed inside the visitation room. Lockers will be provided for storing these items. All visitors must show a valid government-issued ID.
    Inmates are also allowed to receive mail. All mail must have the complete name and address of the sender. Labels, stickers, perfume, cash, markers, crayons, and colored pencils in or on the mail will not be accepted.

    Money orders will be accepted in the mail but must have the inmate’s complete name. It should also be sent via the US Postal Service. Photos are also allowed (no more than 10 in their possession) as long as they are not larger than 4×6 and are not Polaroids.

    Family and friends can use the kiosk in the main lobby of the Sheriff’s Office to deposit money into an inmate’s commissary account. They can also opt to deposit money at the JailATM website.

A sex offender is a person with a conviction for an illegal offense involving sexual misconduct such as rape, incest, and sex trafficking.     Bail and Bondsman

    To remain out of jail while his trial is pending, a defendant is required to post bail.
