Sex Offender Search and Lookup
Any person convicted of sex-related crimes such as rape, prostitution, sexual assault, child pornography, sex trafficking, and sexual abuse is a sex offender. Sex offenders are required to get registered with the state or county’s sex offender register. Those who don’t register with the state may be charged with a felony. You can get the list of sex offenders registered with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office by going to this link.
Bail and Bondsman
Surety or property bonds as they are commonly referred to are available for most offenses, misdemeanor and felony. If a property bond is not already noted among the list of offenses and their bond amounts, the person will have to have an appearance before a judge to establish whether bond will be permitted and in what amount.
For a property owner to be able to sign a bond, they must be able to provide copy of the current year’s tax notice, showing that taxes have been paid and that the property is located in Carroll County, Georgia. New tax bills are mailed to the property owner in October of the present year, if this is the only bill available, it may be used. On each tax billing there are two distinct values, (a) the 100% value of the property and (b) the 40% value of the property. The amount listed for (b) the 40% value must be equal or greater than the amount of the bond for the property owner to sign the bond.
If there are two individuals listed on the property tax billing, both individuals must sign the bond. If one of the persons listed on a tax billing is the detainee, that property cannot be used to sign the bond. Once the tax papers have been approved, proper identification should be made of the person presenting them, i.e. a valid driver’s license or other photographic identification. Proper identification may be made by an approving officer with specific knowledge of the person. This information is also a means of locating the property owner should the detainee not return to court.
A professional bonding company/service is a person or group of persons licensed to operate a business to provide bonding services. A licensed bondsman need not provide tax billings for bonds, however, there are several bonding companies available, but only companies recognized by the Sheriff shall be authorized to conduct bonding agreements with the Carroll County Jail. Only licensed bonding companies are authorized to conduct business and charge a fee for bonding services.
