Sex Offender Search and Lookup:

Federal law mandates that a sex offender must have his information entered into  the state and national sex offender registries. An individual is classified a sex offender if he was convicted for a sex offense such as rape, prostitution, and child pornography. Visit http://www.scsosheriff.org/sex_offenders.php to get information on the sex offenders residing in Saline County. It is important to read and acknowledge the disclaimer before using the registry. Some offenders do not update their information. This may result in some records only showing previously known addresses.

Bail and Bondsman

A pretrial inmate can be freed from jail while awaiting trial through the process of bail. The court will require a certain amount of money to be pledged to them that will serve as an assurance that the defendant will come back to court once the trial starts. Failure to appear in court will result in the forfeiture of the money.

If a defendant cannot afford to post bail, he can still get released if he hires a bondsman. For 12% of the bail amount, a bondsman can secure the release of a defendant by signing a bond with the court. This fee, however, is non-refundable.
