Important Jail Policies and Procedures:
Inmates at the Baxter County Detention Center are allowed to visit with family and friends. Each inmate is allowed a total of 30 minutes of visitation for the entire day. The inmate is allowed to decide how many of those minutes will be used for any person visiting. All persons coming to the Detention Center to visit a jail inmate must have and present a valid government issued photo driver license or photo identification card.
The visitation schedule is as follows:
MONDAYS, 12:00 NOON to 4:00 PM, will be visitation for jail inmates whose last names begin with the letters “A to M”.
WEDNESDAYS, 12:00 NOON to 4:00 PM, will be visitation for jail inmates whose last names begin with the letters “N to Z”.
*Visitation for inmates who have or use multiple last names will be based upon the last name the inmate is currently booked into the Detention Center under.

Bail and Bondsman
A person charged with a crime in Baxter County can be granted temporary freedom from custody while awaiting trial if he or she is able to post bail. Bail is when the court requires money to be placed in their care in exchange for granting freedom to the defendant. It serves to help increase the probability of the defendant’s appearance in court once the trial is in motion. If he/she misses a court appearance, the money will be forfeited.
