Service and Responsibilities:

The Circuit Court Clerk is the official record keeper for the courts responsible for filing for all criminal, juvenile court cases. The primary duty of the court clerk is to assist the Court judge in the execution of their judicial responsibilities by preparing and maintaining court records, collecting fees and fines, and processing paperwork. Besides, the Court Clerk issues all processes such as citations, notices and summons for service to the sheriff and subpoenas all witnesses in trials of matters. Furthermore, the Court Clerk must be present at all court sessions and keep complete records of the proceedings and determinations of that court.

Services and Responsibilities:

The Bradley County Clerk is an elected county official, responsible for recording, filing and preserving all types of documents submitted for the public and permanent record such as deeds, mortgages, agreements, etc. Besides, the responsibilities of the County Clerk extend to vehicle licenses, marriage licenses, business licenses, issuance of notary applications, collection of sales tax for boats, and the titling of vehicles. Furthermore, the County Clerk is the legislative body of the county and maintains the official Bradley County Commission minutes therefore available for public viewing.

The Bradley County Chancery Court is a court of equity that has jurisdiction over probate matters, many of which are handled by the Clerk & Master. The Chancery Court is responsible for collecting delinquent property taxes as well as back tax payments and conducting the delinquent tax sale for Bradley County, the City of Cleveland and the City of Charleston.
