Services and Responsibilities:

The Circuit Court is the official record keeper for the courts. The Court Office’s primary duty is to assist the Circuit Court judge in executing their judicial tasks by preparing and maintaining court records, collecting fees and fines, and processing paperwork. Besides, the County Court issues all processes such as citations, notices and summons for service to the sheriff and subpoenas all witnesses in trials of matters.

Services and Responsibilities:

The County Clerk’s Office is the custodian of records responsive to keep and maintain the records of the County governing body, recording of deeds, plats, commissioner’s journal documents etc. Also, the County Clerk’s Office handles issues such; passport applications, marriage licenses/certificates, domestic partnerships, military discharges (dd214’s), mining records, oaths, and taxing district budgets. Besides, as part of the Election Official, the Clerk is in charge of registering voters, maintaining up-to-date voting lists, accepting declarations of candidacy for public office, and coordinating elections, call emergency elections, designate taxing districts, provide voting equipment as well as plans and conduct all elections in Crook County.
