Lucas County Corrections Center is located at 1622 Spielbusch Ave., Toledo. It is a full-service adult detention facility with a holding capacity of 346 inmates.
Important Jail Policies and Procedures:
Inmates are allowed to receive visitors listed on their approved visitor list. All visitors on the approved list can request a visit (419) 213-4863 to sign up for the visit no sooner than six (6) days and no later than one (1) day before the visit to schedule it. If you get the voicemail, you must leave your name, name of inmate, proper spelling of both names, your date of birth, Social Security number, a phone number where you can be reached, and the time and day you want to visit. A confirmation of your visit will be made by the visitation counselor via phone within 24 hours.
Visitors will undergo a complete warrant check. In addition, they are required to arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled visit and present a photo ID.
One adult may visit an inmate at one time. Visitors who are the inmates parents or grandparents are allowed to visit together. Children 17 years old or younger are allowed to visit provided they are accompanied by their parent or legal custodian/guardian. The adult must present the child’s birth certificate or proper photo ID. A maximum of 2 people are allowed to visit an inmate at a time.
Inmates are allowed one thirty-minute visit per week, Tuesday through Saturday. The schedule is as follows:
10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
10:40 a.m. – 11:10 a.m.
11:20 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.
12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.
12:40 p.m. – 1:10 p.m.
1:20 p.m. – 1:50 p.m.
2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
2:40 p.m. – 3:10 p.m.

Working at Lucas County Jail or Sheriff’s Office:
A corrections officer at the LC Corrections Center has a starting salary of $14.65/hourly. He or she is also receives a benefits package which includes health care insurance, paid sick leave and vacation, and participation in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.
The main duties of a corrections officer are providing day-to-day control and care of inmates housed in the facility or in the custody of the Sheriff as well as maintaining the safety and security of the facility.
Minimum requirements for this position are as follows:
1) High School Diploma or equivalent (GED certificate)
2) Must be at least 21 years of age
3) Valid Driver’s License required
Applicants will also undergo pre-employment screening which includes a physical ability test, an employment reference, a criminal and traffic background check, a psychological test, and a medical exam with drug testing.

Bail and Bondsman
