Sex Offender Search and Lookup:

A sex offender is someone who has been convicted of a sex-related offense such as rape, sex trafficking, and prostitution. All such offenders are mandated by law to submit their information to local law enforcement for entry into the state sex offender database and national sex offender database. Residents of Ocean County can visit the Sheriff’s Alert page to get information on sex offenders living in their area. Just bear in mind that some offenders do not comply with the law. You may get search results that only list an offender’s last known address.

Bail and Bondsman

In New Jersey, the old cash bail system has been replaced with a risk assessment tool. This algorithm is utilized to predict the actions of a defendant if he is released from jail while awaiting trial. The tool makes use of the defendant’s information such as his criminal history and comes up with a score. A high one predicts that the defendant will most likely commit another crime or run away. The recommendation for a high score is continued detainment while the trial is still pending. A low score will recommend that the defendant be set free because he is not likely to harm society or fail to appear in court.
