Northern Nevada Correctional Center (NNCC) and Stewart Conservation Camp (SCC) are part of a prison complex located in Carson City. The correctional center was established in 1964 and is managed by the Nevada Department of Corrections. The medium security center housed 1,444 male and 9 female inmates as of September 2010. It is a medium custody prison that can house 1,619 inmates.

Stewart Conservation Camp:

Units 7A, 7B, and 8B have visits by appointment only on Mondays from 11am-2pm. Unit 8A has visits by appointment only on Mondays from 11am-2pm, visitors must sign in before 10:45am.

Visitation Policies:

  1. All visitors who are 18 years old or older shall be required to show a picture identification each time they visit. The forms of identification accepted by the NDOC: valid driver’s license from the state of residence, valid state photo identification card from the state of residence, valid military photo identification card, and valid passport.
  2. No inappropriate contact will be permitted in the visit hall. Only a closed mouth kiss and hug are allowed at the beginning and the end of the visit only.
  3. No gum or candy is permitted in the visit hall.
  4. Visitors are encouraged to call 24 hours in advance to make sure the inmate is still located at Northern Nevada Correctional Center and that their visiting days have not changed.
  5. Processing begins at 8:00 A.M. and ends at 2:30 P.M. Processing will pause at 10:00 A.M. for institutional count and resume after count clears.
  6. All visitors must sign in, have their hand stamped, and be cleared through the metal detector.
  7. All visitors and their vehicles are subject to search.
  8. Inmates housed in the infirmary may be scheduled any day of the week but will visit behind glass.
  9. All visiting must conform to A.R. 719, O.P. 719 and Northern Nevada Correctional Center Visiting Rules and Regulations.
