Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Inmate visitation at this facility is on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am to 3pm. Each inmate is allowed up to 3 visits on each visitation day. No cell phone, purses, or handbags are allowed back in the visitation area. Please lock all your personal property up in your vehicle. No suggestive clothing shall be worn when visiting inmates. The duties of a correctional officer in the Cameron Parish Jail include:

1) They have to book in all inmates that are arrested and brought into the jail.

2) They have to write bonds so inmate can bond out of jail. They have to make sure that inmates that are not able to bond out see the Judge within 72 hours of their arrest.

3) They have to make rounds in the jail, serve meals, hand out medication, and attend to other needs of the inmates.

4) On court days the Correctional Office has to bring inmate back and forth to the courtroom.

5) On Tuesday and Fridays we hold inmate visitation. The Correctional Officer has to bring the inmates down for their visits.
